The impact of corporate environmental performance on corporate financial performance in Tehran stock exchange
The links between corporate environmental performance and corporate financial performance or economic success have been studied in several theoretical and empirical studies. Most studies are based on the hypothesis that the amount of environmental protection is negatively or positively correlated with the economic success of the companies. We use a sample of 50 firms publicly listed on the Tehran stock exchange in Iran between 2010 and 2020. We argue that the amount of corporate environmental protection performance could reduce or increase sales growth, which is maybe the most important measure of the economic success of a company. However, in this study, we did not find any correlation between them.
